Maintenance & Care
Please refer to the below information for Maintenance and Product Use guidelines.
- Do not use shampoo and conditioner that contain any Protein, Sulphate, Keratin or have a high alcohol content. These ingredients will cause damage to your hair extensions.
- Following Tape Extensions application, do not wash or wet hair for 48-72 hours.
- Apply shampoo to the roots of your hair, and conditioner from mid-lengths to ends.
- Applying regular treatments is necessary to keep hair extensions in top condition.
- Hair extensions must be brushed regularly, before bed, in the morning and before taking a shower (NO hard bristle brushes or tangle teezers).
- Do not go to bed with wet or damp hair.
- Always dry your hair after washing.
- Oils and treatments should only be used on the mid-lengths and ends.
- Avoid putting heat styling tools such as straightening irons or wand directly on the bonds/tapes or where hair extensions are attached (blow drying is fine).
- Regular maintenance in the salon is required to ensure your hair extensions always stay intact.
- Avoid Tanning and Sunscreen products as this will discolour extensions.
Colouring:
If colouring your extensions is required, a professional should always perform this. If you really wish to colour your extensions try not to go far from their original colour. Colour to darker tones with a gloss Redken Shades EQ only. Also, don’t repeat this process too often on the same extensions. Please ensure you apply the desired colour to a test strand first, as we cannot be held responsible for any issues you may encounter during or after any colouring of your AHB Hair.
Swimming:
Avoid swimming in chlorine and sea salt water, minerals in the water can alter the colour in hair extensions and also dry them out severely.
Styling:
Avoid wearing a tight or high ponytails in the first two weeks following application. Use leave-in cream with heat protection when using heat tools and temperature below 180 degrees.
